The School of Engineering offers several programs throughout the year to introduce high school students to the field of engineering.

Residential Summer Engineering Program for High School Students
From August 2-8, 2026, high school students interested in engineering are invited to apply now for the University's residential engineering summer program.
While living on campus, participants will learn the fundamentals of chemical, civil, environmental computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering disciplines, and explore New York City. In addition to meeting industry professionals for career development, students will also participate in hands-on activities in the engineering labs.
Schedule of Program
Sunday, August 2
- Arrival & Registration: 2 p.m.
- Orientation & Ice breaker: 3 p.m.
- Dinner and activities: 6 p.m. onwards
Daily activities (Monday through Friday)
- Breakfast: 8 a.m.
- Engineering Session I: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Lunch: 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
- Engineering Session II: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
- Workshop/Presentation: 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Dinner, NYC Exploration and tours: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Retire to rooms: 9 p.m.
Saturday, August 8
- Breakfast: 8 a.m.
- Closing ceremony: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Depart campus: 12 p.m.
Fees
Total cost of attendance: $2,500 (inclusive of tuition, room & board, all supplies, and events)

Students must be currently enrolled in 10th or 11th grade in high school. Students must be 16 years old or older at the time they attend the program

Chemical Engineering Summer Program
July 27–30, 2026 | 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
The goal of this four-day Summer Program is to introduce rising high school juniors and seniors to the exciting and impactful discipline of Chemical Engineering.
Participants will gain an appreciation for the broad range of fields in which chemical engineers play a vital role, including:

Electronics and semiconductor materials processing

Biomedicine and biomedical device manufacturing

Food engineering

Renewable energy production

Cosmetic, consumer goods, and pharmaceutical manufacturing
Simply put, chemical engineers contribute to the creation and improvement of nearly every product that enhances our quality of life.
Chemical engineering is not just chemistry.
This immersive, hands-on program is led by faculty and students from the Chemical Engineering Department at Manhattan University.
What to Expect
During this four-day immersive program, students will:

Students who complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion and a $75 application fee waiver if they choose to apply to Manhattan University’s Chemical Engineering B.S. program.

Mechanical Engineering Summer Institute
July 6 – August 13, 2026 | 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The Mechanical Engineering Summer Institute at Manhattan University is designed for high school students who want to explore mechanical engineering through hands-on learning with engineering students, faculty members, and professionals in the field.
Participants will explore a different sub-area of mechanical engineering each week, gaining exposure to the breadth of the discipline and the real-world applications that define it.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Summer Program at Manhattan University is an exciting, hands-on experience designed for high school students curious about how technology, data, and engineering shape the modern world.

Participants will take part in exclusive professional trips to visit leading technology companies, innovation labs, or engineering research centers. Summer Engineering Awareness Program
For 40 years, Manhattan College has introduced high school students to careers in engineering, math and science through the Summer Engineering Awareness Program.
This 10-day intensive program for rising juniors and seniors is offered free of charge, and geared toward minority and female students in the New York City metro area. The program is directed by Walter P. Saukin, Ph.D., associate professor of civil engineering, and sponsored by the ACE Mentorship Program, the Metropolitan Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the New York Building Foundation, the General Contractors’ Association, The Richard and Barbara Whitcomb Foundation, the New York Power Authority, in addition to individual and corporate sponsors.
What to Expect
The program focuses on science, engineering and the college admission process. As a program participant, you can expect to:
- Learn about chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental and mechanical engineering, and physics through hands-on experiments in the laboratories. Specific topics include:
