Recognizing a legacy of student and alumni success
For 171 years, successive generations of Jaspers have gone on to excel in their communities and careers. There are many reasons for this legacy of achievement — chief among them our unwavering focus on academic excellence combined with strong Lasallian Catholic values.
Rooted in the Christian Brothers’ charism, Manhattan’s approach to teaching instills the knowledge, skills and sense of commitment students need to help make our world a better place. The University’s ongoing narrative of success continues to earn kudos from prominent media sources. Their accolades reflect the enduring value of a Manhattan University education, as the following highlights suggest:
- Washington Monthly ranks Manhattan among the top 40 “Best Bang for the Buck” colleges in the northeastern United States. The bimonthly, not-for-profit magazine also lists the University among the nation’s 45 “Best Master’s” colleges and universities.
- Manhattan soared in the 2024 U.S. News & World Report rankings, lifting us to 13th place out of 167 Regional Universities in the North.
- The U.S. Department of Education named the University a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), further testimony to our abiding Lasallian Catholic commitment to preparing a diverse student body for success. To earn HSI status, an institution must serve a Hispanic enrollment of at least 25%.
- The Princeton Review included Manhattan in its 2024 listing of The Best 389 Colleges — in addition to our being recognized as one of the top colleges in the northeastern United States.
Today as always, Manhattan owes these accomplishments to the support of loyal alumni and friends. Their generosity strengthens the programs and services that draw students of all backgrounds and circumstances to the Riverdale campus. We remain grateful for your partnership in the important work of Lasallian Catholic higher education.
