Residence Life Administration

The Residence Life staff is responsible for health and safety, programming in the residence halls, and student well-being in all four residence halls. Our main office is located in Thomas Hall 502, and we are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Residence Hall Staff

Residence Life has full- and part-time professional staff in every residence hall. Area Coordinators and student staff, known as Resident Assistants (RAs), work closely with students during their time living on campus. Members of the Residence Life staff are on call for emergencies. Students who need urgent help should contact Public Safety at 718-862-7333.

• Area Coordinator (AC): Manages the administrative and daily operations for each residence hall. Area Coordinators maintain daytime office hours and collaborate with offices such as Physical Plant and Student Financial Services to assist students.
• Resident Assistants (RAs): Students who live on the floor with their peers and are particularly attuned to student needs. RAs help promote an atmosphere that supports academic achievement, social growth, and the development of personal and group responsibility. They also assist individual residents directly or through appropriate referrals with academic, personal, and social issues that college students commonly face.
