Fall 2026 Residence Hall Move-In Information
First-Year Students, Transfer & Exchange Students
Mandatory building meetings will take place Thursday evening. Time TBA.
- Wednesday, August 19, 2026: Students attending orientation on August 20, 2026 are permitted to move into the halls from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, August 19, 2026: All exchange students are permitted to move into the halls from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday, August 20, 2026: All students not attending orientation on August 20, 2026 are permitted to start moving into the halls as follows:
- Last names A - L: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
- Last names M - Z: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Unloading Locations
- Floors 2 - 6: Front of Lee Hall
- Floors 7 - 10: Draddy Parking Lot
Locations are for unloading only! Please kindly move your vehicle to the Broadway Parking Garage after you unload to make space for fellow Jaspers.
All Returning Students

Looking to Move in Earlier?
Transfer/Exchange/First Year Attending Orientation
- Official move in - August 19th
- August 18th – No fee but must complete form on MyMU portal
- August 15th – August 17th - $50 fee per night and must complete form on MyMU portal
First Years Not Attending Orientation
- Official move in - August 20th
- August 18th & August 19th – No fee but must complete form on MyMU portal
- August 15th – August 20th - $50 fee per night and must complete form on MyMU portal
Returning Students
- Official move in: Saturday August 22 – Last Name A-L
- Official move in: Sunday August 23 – Last Name M-Z
- August 15th – August 20th - $50 fee per night and must complete form on MyMU portal

Requirements:
- Attend a mandatory informational meeting the evening of August 18th
- Must be able to work shifts anywhere from 10:00am-6:00pm on all four of the following dates:
- Wednesday August 19
- Thursday August 20
- Saturday August 22
- Sunday August 23

Fall Break
- Monday, October 12, 2026: Residence halls remain open.
Thanksgiving Break
- November 25, 2026 - November 27, 2026: Residence halls remain open. Students will be required to complete a form via their MyMU portal to register to stay. There is no fee; however, please note that dining services will be closed.
Fall Finals Week Guest Policy & Quiet Hours
- No overnight guests starting Tuesday, December 8, 2026 through Monday, December 14, 2026.
- 24-hour quiet hours begin Tuesday, December 8, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. and continue until Monday, December 14, 2026.
Residence Hall Closing for Winter Break 2026
- Wednesday, December 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
Residence Hall Opening for Spring 2027
- Sunday, January 17, 2027 at 10:00 a.m.
Spring Finals Week Guest Policy & Quiet Hours
- No overnight guests starting Tuesday, May 4, 2027 through Thursday, May 14, 2027.
- 24-hour quiet hours begin Tuesday, May 4, 2027 at 5:00 p.m. and continue until Thursday, May 14, 2027.
Residence Hall Closing for Spring 2027
- For all non-graduating students, the residence halls close promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2027.
- For students participating in commencement, the residence halls close promptly at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17, 2027.
Due to a quick turnover to our summer programs, we are unable to accommodate late departures. Please plan travel arrangements accordingly.
