The Digital Media Art program teaches the practice, theory, and history of today's most in-demand digital art fields, including graphic design and animation, 3D modeling, photography, game design, and immersive AR/VR. Working alongside practicing artists in the department's Graphic Arts Labs, you build the portfolio, skills, and real-world experience to make culturally significant work in one of the world's great centers of digital media.

The Annual Guggenheim Internship in Venice
Established specifically for Digital Media Art majors, this competitive internship places up to two students each summer at The Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy, for a one-month, paid internship, an opportunity that distinguishes the program from comparable offerings at other institutions.

Digital Media Art students learn directly from practicing artists, designers, and scholars who are active at the forefront of the discipline. Program Director Dr. Daniel Savoy was awarded the Kress Digital Humanities Fellowship at Villa I Tatti, Harvard University's center for Italian Renaissance studies in Florence, and his digital reconstruction work was featured in the 2025 Milan Triennale exhibition, seen by more than one million visitors. Faculty like Dr. Savoy bring that same energy and expertise into the studio, mentoring students one-on-one as they develop their craft.
