Integrated Marketing Communication B.S.
Turn strategy into stories that engage people and markets worldwide.
Today, brands reach audiences across digital, social, video, audio, and data-informed platforms, and the people who lead them must be both strategists and storytellers. Manhattan University's Bachelor of Science in Integrated Marketing Communication brings together the AACSB-accredited O'Malley School of Business and the Kakos School of Arts and Sciences in one cohesive major, combining marketing strategy, communication theory, media production, and analytics. Choose a track in Content Creation or Artificial Intelligence in Marketing and Communication, and graduate ready to design, launch, and measure campaigns that move people.

The Manhattan Advantage
Why Study Integrated Marketing Communication at Manhattan University
The major starts from a simple idea: you can't run a good campaign if you only understand half of it. So you'll study marketing the way business students do, with courses in consumer behavior, marketing research, and digital marketing strategy, and you'll study communication the way media students do, with courses in persuasion, brand communication, social media strategy, and media production. The two departments planned the curriculum together, so the strategy and creative courses speak to each other instead of living in separate buildings.
You'll also take the liberal arts seriously, because good marketing communication depends on understanding people. Psychology, sociology, and philosophy courses give you a real sense of how audiences think and what responsible messaging looks like. From there, you choose a track. Content Creation is for students who want to make things: video, audio, design, and multimedia stories built in the Creative Media Hub. Artificial Intelligence in Marketing and Communication is for students who want to work with data, using analytics, predictive consumer analysis, and AI tools to sharpen strategy. Three electives let you go deeper in whichever area interests you most.
Senior year, you put it all together in a capstone where you build a complete integrated marketing communication campaign from the ground up: market research, audience analysis, messaging across platforms, and analytics that show whether it worked. It's the same process you'll follow on the job, and you'll graduate with a portfolio to prove it. Graduates go on to careers in marketing, advertising, public relations, social media management, brand strategy, content creation, and marketing analytics.

Why Study in New York City
The advertising industry got its nickname from a New York City street, and it still runs from here. Omnicom, one of the world's largest advertising and marketing holding companies, is headquartered in Manhattan, alongside the media companies whose platforms carry the campaigns, from NBCUniversal and The New York Times to Condé Nast and Hearst, and the New York offices of Google, Meta, and Spotify. The brands are here too: American Express, Estée Lauder, and Verizon in the city, PepsiCo just up the road in Westchester. For students in the major, that means the agencies, media companies, and brands you study in class are a subway ride from campus, and so are the internships, client projects, and first jobs that come with them.
Learn From Faculty in Both Schools
Integrated Marketing Communication students learn from two faculties: the Department of Marketing and Management in the O'Malley School of Business and the Department of Communication, Sound and Media Arts in the Kakos School of Arts and Sciences. The marketing faculty teach research, consumer behavior, and strategy the way the AACSB business core demands, and the communication faculty bring professional experience in public relations, advertising, digital storytelling, and media production. Both teach in small classes, mentor students through client projects and internships, and see senior campaigns through from first brief to final presentation.

The Integrated Marketing Communication major was developed jointly by faculty in management and marketing and in communication, sound and media arts, a collaboration between the O'Malley School of Business and the Kakos School of Arts and Sciences. The AACSB-accredited O'Malley School of Business anchors the business core, marketing strategy, and analytics coursework, and the Kakos School of Arts and Sciences brings communication theory, digital storytelling, and hands-on media production in the George I. Alden Trust Creative Media Hub.
