The Manhattan Advantage
Why Study Health Science at Manhattan University?
Health Science focuses on the physical and behavioral wellbeing of people, and it opens doors across healthcare, the pharmaceutical industry, government, and the nonprofit sector. Demand is strong: healthcare occupations are projected to grow much faster than the average for all jobs through 2034, with about 1.9 million openings each year. At Manhattan University, an interdisciplinary curriculum, an embedded public health minor, and a hands-on senior practicum prepare you to meet that demand with a solid scientific foundation and real-world experience.
Put Your Learning Into Practice
Every Health Science student completes a senior practicum, a capstone placement in a clinic, organization, or health setting tailored to your career goals. Working alongside professionals, you gain firsthand experience in the field you plan to enter and the kind of applied learning that strengthens graduate-school and job applications alike. With New York City as your backdrop, the range of possible placements is exceptional.

You will study how communities stay healthy, how policy shapes care, and how to address health disparities, perspectives that strengthen any health career. The embedded minor is completed through five courses: Introduction to Public Health, Essentials for Public Health Practice, Foundations of Public Health Policy, Practicum in Public Health, and Disparities in Health.
Why Study in New York City
For a future teacher, few places offer more than New York City. Manhattan University places students in a broad range of school settings, from city public schools to private and suburban classrooms, giving you experience with the diverse students and communities you will one day teach.
