Manhattan College is offering a $2,000 scholarship to admitted first-year students who plan to attend Manhattan College. There is no additional application nor any special rules for this scholarship. The Financial Aid Office will award this $2,000 scholarship annually to students who are graduates of Lasallian middle and secondary schools.
Manhattan College is the only Lasallian university of New York City and one of the best institutions of Lasallian higher education in the world. “The Lasallian Scholars Award is part of a cooperative effort to continually improve the quality and scope of the Lasallian tradition at Manhattan College,” said Benjamin Boivin ’09,’15 (MBA), director of undergraduate admissions at Manhattan College.
During their time at Manhattan College, recipients of the Lasallian Scholars Award are encouraged to actively participate in a variety of student clubs and organizations. They are also encouraged to foster ongoing relationships with their high school, and within the international Lasallian network, including our unique One La Salle study abroad opportunities at any of the 64 Lasallian universities across the globe.
The Lasallian Scholars:
- Prioritize their academic, social, and emotional well-being by receiving a Lasallian mentor throughout their time at Manhattan College.
- Gather together on occasion throughout the semester to support one another and consider opportunities to support and advocate for the vulnerable in our community.
- Actively participate in a variety of campus leadership opportunities through clubs, residence life, honor societies, and neighborhood clean-ups.
- Spread the word of the Lasallian mission and the heritage of Saint John Baptist De La Salle to their peers through social media, class presentations, casual conversations, and other creative ways.
