For Jaspers Abroad in January, Travel Propels Cultural Learning

Manhattan College students who studied abroad during winter break saw the Eiffel Tower up close, discovered how tourism impacts the Islamic states of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and had many other enriching life experiences. While traveling across the globe, they earned course credit toward their major or to fulfill overall academic requirements.

Munich, Germany

Students visit the famed Neuschwanstein Castle on a trip to Munich Germany. During the trip, which also brought them to Vienna, Austria, they learned about the history of Catholic music and enjoyed other cultural excursions.
Barcelona, Spain

Biking through the countryside was part of the unforgettable time these Jaspers had during this two-week long adventure. The trip explored the intersection between food, culture and literature.
Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE)

High-rising sand dunes proved a worthwhile resting spot for this group of students from the O'Malley School of Business, who spent nine days meeting local firms and residents in the United Arab Emirates.
Paris, France

Jaspers in Paris experienced the City of Light from a historical perspective. They saw iconic sights and furthered their study of Saints in the context of the Parisian church.
Venice, Italy

The canals of Venice are a lens into its architecture and rich history, as these students found out during a winter break trip that fulfilled requirements for the Digital Arts and Humanities (DAsH) and art programs.
