Mission Statement (JRCERT 4.1)

The mission of the radiation therapy program is to prepare self-directed, reflective, competent, and professional healthcare providers, who are dedicated to the highest healthcare standards for themselves and their patients. The mission statement can be found in the college catalog (JRCERT 1.10) and is evaluated at the clinical supervisor meeting, which is held during the spring semester of each year. 

Program Learning Goals

The program learning goals of the radiation therapy program can be found in the course catalog (JRCERT 6.1) and are as follows:

Goal #1: Students will be academically competent as entry-level radiation therapists. 

Goal #2: Students will be clinically competent as entry-level radiation therapists.

Goal #3: Students will demonstrate the communication skills of a competent entry-level radiation therapist.

Goal #4: Students will develop the critical thinking skills necessary to perform independently within the radiation therapists’ scope of practice.

Program Effectiveness Data

The program maintains and publishes the following program effectiveness data on an annual basis, in accordance with JRCERT Standard 6.1:

  • Five-year average credentialing examination pass rate (first attempt, within six months of graduation)
  • Five-year average job placement rate (employment within six months of graduation)
  • Annual program completion rate (students completing within 100% of program length)
