Mission Statement (JRCERT 4.1)

The mission of the radiation therapy program is to prepare self-directed, reflective, competent, and professional healthcare providers who are committed to upholding the highest standards of healthcare for both themselves and their patients.

Program Learning Goals

The program learning goals of the radiation therapy program can be found in the course catalog (JRCERT 6.1) and are as follows:

Goal #1: Students will be academically competent as entry-level radiation therapists. 

Goal #2: Students will be clinically competent as entry-level radiation therapists.

Goal #3: Students will demonstrate the communication skills of a competent entry-level radiation therapist.

Goal #4: Students will develop the critical thinking skills necessary to perform independently within the radiation therapists’ scope of practice.

Credentialing Examination: The number of students who pass, on the first attempt, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination, or an unrestricted state licensing examination, compared with the number of graduates who take the examination within six months of graduation. The five-year average benchmark established by the JRCERT is 75%.

Credentialing Examination Rate

Number passed on 1st attempt divided by number attempted within 6 months of graduation. The five-year average benchmark established by the JRCERT is 75%.

Job Placement Rate

Number employed divided by number actively seeking employment within 12 months of graduation. The five-year average benchmark established by the JRCERT is 75%.

Program Completion Rate

Number graduated divided by number started the program. The annual benchmark established by the program is 75%.
