Manhattan College today announced the restructuring of its six schools into three to better position its students to acquire career-ready skills while building on its supportive, high-quality academic experience provided by its distinguished faculty. The resulting schools will be: the Kakos School of Arts and Sciences, the O’Malley School of Business, and the School of Engineering. Each will guide its students to take advantage of the boundless opportunities at their doorstep, while offering a campus environment that is encouraging and caring of its students.
Milo Riverso ’81 Ph.D., P.E., Manhattan College’s president stated, “I am committed to excellence in education, and as a Manhattan College graduate myself, I well appreciate the supportive academic experiences that our superior faculty offer, as well as the professional connections offered by our extensive alumni network. The three schools will provide laser-focus emphasis on top-tier education to our entire student body – whether the student’s primary major be one of the arts, the sciences, engineering, or business.”
Stephen Squeri, chairman and CEO of American Express, chair of the Manhattan College Board of Trustees and a Manhattan College graduate recently stated, “Manhattan College instilled in me lifelong lessons about the importance of living with purpose and giving back to our communities. I look forward to continuing the College’s mission and academic programs as it evolves its structure to develop young professionals better positioned to launch successful careers.”
Rani Roy, Ph.D., the College’s acting provost stated, “The three-school structure will allow us to enhance our students’ academic experiences by concentrating interconnected areas of study within a given school. This affords our students both depth and breadth of choices while preparing them for a world beyond Manhattan College that is filled with both challenges and opportunities.”
