Learn finance on the tools professionals use.
The Bloomberg Finance Lab in De La Salle Hall 210 gives students in the O’Malley School of Business at Manhattan University access to the Bloomberg Terminal, the professional platform for real-time market data, financial analysis, and research. Used as a classroom during the day and available to students late into the evening, the lab connects coursework with the technology used across the finance industry. Because classes are small, students often work with the terminals one-on-one.

The Facility
Inside the Bloomberg Finance Lab
The lab pairs 34 dual-monitor workstations with a real-time stock ticker and financial data displays, creating an environment built for market research, analysis, and applied learning. Twelve Bloomberg licenses provide access to real-time and historical market data, company financials, financial news, analyst research, and professional analytical tools spanning equities, fixed income, commodities, and economics. A lab assistant is on site, and the room serves both scheduled classes and independent student projects.
Our investment club utilizes Bloomberg Terminals to access real-time market data, conduct in-depth financial analysis, and perform equity research. These tools allow our members to gain hands-on experience with the same technology used by industry professionals.

Bloomberg Fluency Is a Hiring Signal
The Bloomberg Terminal has defined global financial data for more than four decades. Firms from Goldman Sachs to boutique hedge funds expect junior hires to know it, and those who do, stand out immediately. Fewer than 10% of U.S. degree-granting institutions offer Bloomberg access. At Manhattan University, every student has it, free of charge, in any major. Our Bronx campus places students minutes from the world's leading financial center, and Bloomberg access connects them directly to internship pipelines at investment banks, asset managers, and firms across all five boroughs.
The Economics & Finance Society is working to schedule weekly workshops where members will work towards gaining Bloomberg Certificates while also getting passport points. Board members will assist in navigating the Terminal.

Students put their Bloomberg skills to work in the Bloomberg Global Trading Challenge, a global competition in which teams manage a virtual portfolio using live market data and apply investment strategies in a competitive setting. It is a chance to test classroom learning against real markets and student teams from universities worldwide.
