Radiation Therapy Program Earns Initial JRCERT Accreditation
Manhattan University is proud to announce that its Radiation Therapy program has been awarded Initial Accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), the nation's premier accreditor in medical imaging and therapeutic sciences, recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
"For prospective students, this accreditation signifies that our program meets the highest national standards for educational quality and is designed to help prepare graduates for successful careers in radiation therapy," said Frederick Bonato, Ph.D., president of Manhattan University. "It reflects our ongoing commitment to student success and to preparing the next generation of radiation therapists."
Housed within the Kakos School of Arts and Sciences, the Radiation Therapy program cultivates the scientific knowledge and technical expertise needed to treat and support cancer patients using precision technology at the heart of modern oncology. The program blends rigorous coursework in radiation physics, biology, and treatment planning with an extended clinical internship that provides hands-on training, complemented by a concentration in healthcare administration, preparing students to excel in one of the most rewarding and precise fields in healthcare.
"This is a significant milestone for our program and for the University," said Angela Oliveira, MPA, R.T., Chair of Radiological and Health Professions, Program Director, and Assistant Professor of Radiation Therapy. "Achieving this accreditation reflects the collaborative efforts of our administration, faculty, clinical partners, adjunct faculty, and many others who have contributed to the development of the Radiation Therapy Program."
