A brand new Student Veterans Center will open on the Manhattan College campus in the fall of 2022.
The space will be centrally located on campus in Thomas Hall near the Center for Academic Success, Center for Career Development, office of Financial Aid Services, and the Director of Veterans Success Programs, all key services used by student veterans.
The center will include three areas: a quiet study space, a group meeting space, and a more social and collaborative space that allows for student veterans to bond with each other.
For more than 150 years, Manhattan College has been committed to educating veterans and military affiliated students. Serving those who have served supports the College’s priority to develop an inclusive campus community.
In 2015, Manhattan College launched a truly unique student veterans program—Veterans at Ease. The Veterans at Ease program is designed to introduce incoming student veterans to each other by affording them the opportunity to take The Nature and Experience of Religion, a required course, together with traditional first-year students. Within this intellectual context, issues of alienation, anxiety, and stress are addressed. These issues are the grounds upon which we offer our student veterans, at no cost to themselves, a retreat program, which the College hosts at a scenic location.
In recognition of the support provided to student veterans, Manhattan College's Veterans Success Programs have recently received the following recognition and accomplishments:
