On the morning of Sunday, Nov. 5, nearly 100 Manhattan College students from a wide variety of on-campus groups came together to clean up the streets of Riverdale surrounding the campus.
Led by Manhattan College’s Student Government Neighborhood Relations Committee, the group met in front of Kelly Commons and canvassed the neighborhood to pick up garbage, going from Kingsbridge Avenue to the east, Riverdale Avenue to the west and West 236th Street to the south, and back to Manhattan College Parkway and Waldo Avenue, adjacent to campus.
“We heard from a number of different members of the community who were grateful for our work,” said Ryan Quattromani, chairman and founder of the Neighborhood Relations Committee of Student Government. “I’m thankful for everyone’s support for this effort, which is a true representation of our student body.”
A number of student groups and organizations were part of the cleanup effort, including Student Government, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Air Force ROTC Detachment 560.
