On Sunday, Dec. 10, Manhattan College’s singers and orchestra will perform popular Christmas carols and Advent hymns.
Manhattan College’s singers and orchestra will host its annual Festival of Lessons and Carols on campus in the Chapel of De La Salle and His Brothers in Smith Auditorium on Sunday, December 10. Doors open at 3 p.m., preludes begin at 3:30 p.m. and the full program will start at 4 p.m.
The event is free and open to everyone, including all students, faculty, staff, alumni and the local community. No tickets are required.
Lessons and Carols is an hour-long celebration that combines popular Christmas carols and Advent hymns with Scripture readings and contemporary musical arrangements. The College orchestra will also accompany selections of choral music by Mozart, Handel and Rutter.
Following the concert, at approximately 5:30 p.m., there will be a reception on the fifth floor of the Kelly Commons for all in attendance, with musical accompaniment provided by the College’s jazz band.
