On Oct. 9, Manhattan College’s School of Arts and History and Religious Studies departments will host Huffington Post Religion Editor, Rev. Paul Brandeis Raushenbush for a lecture on the portrayal of religion in the media.
Rev. Raushenbush is an ordained American Baptist minister and is the author of Teen Spirit: One World, Many Faiths (2004). Before his tenure at The Huffington Post, he was the associate dean of religious life and the chapel at Princeton University from 2003-2011. In the past, he also served as the president of the Association of College and University Religious Affairs (ACURA) from 2009-2011.
Rev. Raushenbush speaks and preaches at colleges, churches and institutes around the country including the New America Foundation and the Aspen Institute. He is also frequently invited to offer commentary on issues of religion and society on national television and radio.
The lecture starts at 3 p.m. in Hayden Hall, room 100 and is free and open to the public.
