School of Education and Health Now Offering Master’s and Professional Diplomas for Superintendents

The program features a master’s and professional diploma in Advanced Leadership Studies.

Manhattan College’s School of Education and Health was recently approved by New York State to offer graduate students the opportunity to take courses towards superintendent certification through a master’s degree or professional diploma. The Master of Science and Professional Diploma in Advanced Leadership Studies (ALS) are part of the School of Education and Health’s graduate program that focuses on leadership development for training educational professionals to become leaders in their fields.

The College is currently accepting applications from graduate students for the fall semester. In addition, both the master’s and professional diploma curriculum incorporate key skills and knowledge for School Building Leaders (SBL), School District Leaders (SDL) and School District Business Leaders (SDBL) in New York State.

“The ALS program assists competent and caring professionals to meet eligibility requirements and become qualified to take the state assessment in order to be certified as School District Leaders,” said Sister Remigia Kushner, Ph.D., director of the School Building Leadership and Advanced Leadership programs and professor of education.
