Overview

Tannon Reckling is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Manhattan University where he is teaching in the Digital Media Arts Program. Courses include: Introduction to Graphic Design, 3D Design and Visualization, Digital Drawing, and more. Reckling also serves the department as Coordinator of Digital Media Art helping with technology and student advising needs. 

Additionally, Reckling is an Ed.D. candidate and multi-department fellow in Art and Art Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, where he helps oversee the campus Makerspace. Reckling holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studio Art from the University of Oregon and an MA in Cinema Studies from New York University. His extensive institutional background spans teaching and curatorial roles at UCLA, University of Oregon, NYU, School of Visual Arts (SVA), FIT, Stony Brook University, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE), alongside numerous artist residencies. Reckling has extensive experience with workshops and local art programming. Across his academic and studio practice, Reckling teaches studio art, creative professional practices, and queer new media processes. 

Reckling's scholarship and art writing and have been featured in journals of records and editorials including Artforum, Frieze, The Brooklyn Rail, e-flux, Film Quarterly, and more. As a Visual AIDS non-profit artist member, Reckling's work and research actively engages interdisciplinary HIV/AIDS visual culture and the medical humanities, with numerous global collaborations.
