Message from the Chair, Fund for Manhattan

m_walsh_photo1.jpgDear Jaspers and Friends:

A great tradition is never static. Always guided by its sustaining values, a strong heritage of excellence adapts to new circumstances, challenges and opportunities. So it is with Manhattan College, now Manhattan University, as I am so pleased to have personally seen during my tenure as chair of the Fund for Manhattan.

Having just completed my fourth and final year leading this effort, I am especially delighted to express my deepest thanks to all of my fellow Jaspers and our University’s good friends for making this experience so rewarding. It takes enormous loyalty and generosity to provide consistent support. Clearly, that is what all of you so graciously continue to do. Giving to Manhattan for 2023-24 exceeded $17 million, an inspiring statement of faith in our University’s 171-year-old educational mission. We owe much of its strength to all of you.

Of course, this is a special issue of our Honor Roll. In addition to expressing our gratitude to all of you for supporting the Fund for Manhattan — as well as other ongoing sources of aid — we celebrate the extraordinary success of our University’s largest capital campaign to date, which has come to its notable conclusion. I invite you to read more about this remarkable endeavor in our Campaign section

At this time of rapid change in American higher education, we are invested in ensuring that future generations will have access to the many advantages of a Lasallian Catholic higher education.

Thank you all once again for making my work as the Fund for Manhattan’s chair such a memorable experience. I trust that you will continue to support the unique enterprise that is our University under my successors. And as always, “Go Jaspers!”
