  • MBA 606: Doing Business: Study Trip (3 credits)

The objective of this course is to understand Malaysia and Singapore’s distinctive roles in the global economy and how businesses operate within these contexts. The program is structured around three core elements. First, students participate in onsite visits to local businesses, gaining firsthand insight into organizational operations, management practices, and market strategies. Second, students attend sessions featuring regional business leaders, policymakers, intellectuals, and social advocates who discuss contemporary economic, cultural, and social issues. Third, students engage in cultural immersion experiences that provide essential context for understanding the regional business environment.

In addition to exploring the business landscape, the course examines the history, traditions, and cultural heritage of both countries. Through professional engagement and cultural exploration, students develop a nuanced understanding of how local context influences economic practice and strategic decision-making in two globally significant Southeast Asian societies.
