Manhattan University’s long-term study abroad programs offer students the opportunity to spend a semester or full academic year studying at partner institutions around the world. Through these exchange experiences, students enroll in courses at host universities while fully immersing themselves in the academic, cultural, and social life of their destination.
Unlike short-term, faculty-led programs, semester programs provide a more independent and flexible structure. Students select from a range of courses offered by the host institution, allowing them to align their studies with major, minor, or elective requirements while gaining international academic experience. Many programs also offer opportunities to engage with local communities, participate in campus life, and develop language proficiency.
With partner institutions across Europe, Latin America, Asia, and beyond—including members of the global Lasallian network—Manhattan University’s long-term programs support students in building global perspective, adaptability, and intercultural fluency. These extended experiences deepen academic understanding while preparing students to navigate and contribute to an increasingly interconnected world.
