Pre-Health Programs

Pre-health programs at Manhattan are designed to help students lay the foundation for careers in medicine, dentistry, and other health-related fields. Students that are interested in pursuing a professional degree or graduate program should take biology courses included in one of the following tracks:

  • Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental / Pre-Veterinary
  • Pre-Professional
  • Pre-Physical Therapy
  • Environmental Biology
  • Education Studies

Regardless of which track you’re considering, it is important to plan out your entire proposed course sequence with your faculty advisor and department chair.

Pre-health is also offered as a minor. Learn more about Manhattan's pre-health minor:

At Manhattan, pre-health is a course of study that helps students define their career goals, complete the necessary requirements and become competitive applicants to medical, dental, veterinary, physical therapy or other health programs.

The Introduction to Pre-Health Studies course provided invaluable insight into the diverse career opportunities in healthcare, inspiring me to pursue a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree after graduation. The professors at Manhattan University were consistently attentive and supportive, fostering my academic growth and motivating me to excel in a highly competitive field.
