Chi Epsilon, the civil engineering honor society, is dedicated to promoting the status of civil engineering and maintaining high standards of professional service. It seeks to place a mark of distinction upon students of civil engineering who exemplify the four traits of the successful engineer:

  • scholarship
  • character
  • practicality
  • sociability

Chi Epsilon was founded in 1922 at the University of Illinois. Manhattan University has had an active chapter on campus since 1949.

Eligibility

To qualify for membership, undergraduates must:

  • be a junior or senior
  • be in the top one-third of their civil engineering class
  • actively demonstrate the traits of scholarship, character, practicality and sociability
