Alpha Kappa Delta, the international honor society for sociology, is dedicated to promoting outstanding scholarship in sociology, research into social problems, and other social and intellectual activities that will lead to the improvement of the human condition. The name of the society implies social research for the purpose of service. Alpha Kappa Delta was originally founded in 1920 at the University of Southern California, and Manhattan University’s chapter was founded in 1984.
Eligibility
To qualify for membership, undergraduates must have:
- completed at least five sociology courses
- an overall GPA in the top third of their class
- at least a 3.25 GPA in their major
