The Center for Career Development awarded 11 female students the opportunity of a lifetime this summer – to live in New York City, and work at their dream jobs.
This highly competitive internship program is called W.I.S.E. (Women Inspiring Successful Enterprise), and matched participants with an eight-week paid internship that aligned with their career interests and goals. The cohort also received housing as they immersed themselves in this opportunity to advance professionally. In addition, weekly enrichment sessions on campus provided guided reflections, trainings with alumnae mentors, and collaborative projects to develop these female emerging leaders. In October, these students will share their wisdom at a professional women’s symposium to unveil the new Women’s Center on campus.
This program hopes to close the wage gap, empower our female students, and prepare them to hold professional leadership positions. Inspired by his three daughters, Jim Boyle '61 made this opportunity possible for the first cohort. All students and alumni are encouraged to visit the Center for Career Development for assistance identifying, clarifying, and achieving their career goals.
