Filmmaker Andrew Neel Will Discuss “Alice Neel” at Manhattan College
Award-winning film profiles 20th century New York City artist
On Thursday, April 11, Manhattan College will present a screening of the 2007 documentary Alice Neel, followed by a question-and-answer session with filmmaker Andrew Neel. The event will take be held in Hayden Hall, Room 100, at 6:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
Alice Neel, which earned a New York Times "Critics' Choice" designation, profiles the filmmaker's grandmother, a famous New York City painter who faced many challenges. The film won the 2007 Audience Award for Feature Documentary.
Andrew Neel has been recognized with several honors in his young career, including the Jury's Choice Award and the New Vision Award.
The screening is sponsored by the Manhattan College Film Society.
