Presidential Search

Manhattan University was founded in 1853 by the Brothers of the Christian Schools, a Catholic teaching order started by Saint John Baptist de La Salle.

Our 20th president, Brother Daniel Gardner, FSC, has brought our Manhattan University community a warmth of spirit, culture of accountability, and unique level of accessibility. As Brother’s agreed-upon term began to wind down, we were challenged to begin a search process for our University’s next president — someone able to continue our mission in the spirit of the example Brother has set. With that as our charge, our presidential search process for the 21st president of Manhattan University has concluded.

Welcome Milo Riverso, the 21st president of Manhattan University.

Milo Riverso ’81, Ph.D., P.E., has been elected by the Board of Trustees as Manhattan University’s 21st president. With a compelling record of leadership at large and complex organizations; a thorough understanding of the current higher education landscape; and nearly four decades of unwavering service to Manhattan, Dr. Riverso is exceptionally qualified to lead the University during a time of both unique challenges and promising opportunities.
