Demand for accounting professionals, especially those with advanced degrees with skills in business analytics, is very high. With the advancement of financial technology, demand for skilled accountants in a variety of industries has only increased. Having an accounting degree leading to a CPA is the gold standard that shows you’re serious about succeeding in the accounting profession.

Open to all college graduates with sufficient business classes, this 30-credit, one-year online MS Accounting program prepares you for the CPA exam through our licensure qualifying curriculum. Taken full time, the program consists of 10 courses taken over two semesters and one summer session. The program also may be taken part time.

The O'Malley MS Accounting program is designed to prepare you with the knowledge and skills you’ll need to take your career to the next level and enter the exciting field of professional accounting. The program will deliver the cutting edge skills in auditing, tax, data analytics and forensic accounting you need to prepare you for the CPA exam and jobs for major accounting firms. An MS Accounting degree at Manhattan College prepares you for roles such as financial analyst, corporate treasurer, controller, auditor, or financial consultant.

Online Flexibility with High Interaction

The master of science in accounting program is online for maximum flexibility, with both asynchronous course content and weekly “live” virtual sessions for real-time interaction with faculty and other students. This means you’ll receive the same high interaction teaching from our excellent faculty who teach our established on-campus Professional Accounting MBA program.

This program builds on the excellence of the AACSB-accredited O’Malley School of Business and the strengths of its accounting faculty and undergraduate accounting programs to meet the needs of professionals and graduates who wish to enter the accounting profession. We constantly update our curriculum to meet the needs of the ever-changing accounting profession. In fact, our program is designed to align with likely changes in 2024 to the CPA exam, providing updated skills in data analytics, critical thinking, and decision-making.

This program can be completed in one year, with classes taken full time in the fall, spring and summer semesters.
