Manhattan College is requiring employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in order to protect the health and safety of our community and our neighbors.
We will also be able to offer the entire Manhattan College community a more complete experience in the fall, including more event and activity offerings, increased in-person interaction and collaboration, a reduction in mask-wearing and COVID-19 testing.
If you have received a vaccine that has not yet been approved in the US, please contact Health Services at email@example.com or 718-862-7217 to discuss your options. Please note that we will accept proof of immunization for vaccines that have met the criteria for safety and efficacy set by the World Health Organization.
As per the CDC, you do not have to wait 90 days after exposure to COVID-19 to be vaccinated. You are still able to be vaccinated if you are no longer required to isolate, do not have symptoms, and have recovered from any acute illness.
However, it is recommended that vaccination be deferred for at least 90 days for individuals who received convalescent plasma or monoclonal antibodies for treatment of COVID-19. Please consult with your medical provider for additional information and guidance.
The College has hosted several pop-up vaccination clinics on site this year and will continue to explore options to make vaccines accessible to our community. In the meantime, please contact your local health department for vaccination sites or utilize the resources below to make your vaccination appointment, if you live, work, or attend school in New York:
If you are asymptomatic and have been fully vaccinated, you will not be required to quarantine after exposure to COVID-19. However, you will be required to monitor your symptoms for 14 days, and follow College COVID-19 protocols, including engaging in social distancing, wearing a face mask, completing the daily symptom tracker, and responding to contact tracing calls or emails. In addition, the College may require testing of any individuals, vaccinated or unvaccinated, exposed to COVID-19.
If you have an approved medical or religious exemption, you will be required to complete surveillance testing every 7 days. Please check the on-campus testing schedule to see when testing is being offered on-campus. If you are receiving a test from off-campus, please ensure you are uploading the result to the COVID-19 test result reporting portal for Health Services review and approval.
The COVID-19 vaccination is being conducted for the benefit and safety of all members of our community and is required for all employees. Employees not in compliance with this policy, will not be permitted to be on campus, may be required to take unpaid leave of absence, or may be subject to other appropriate action as determined by the College.
