Ways Alumni Can Help Fellow Jaspers

The Center for Career Development (CCD) offers a variety of ways for you to offer your support to fellow Jaspers. Please review the options below and participate in one or more volunteer programs.

Post Job & Internship Opportunities [+]

Handshake is Manhattan College’s new career platform.  Here employers can post internships and jobs, as well as sign up for on-campus recruiting and career fairs.

If you are having any issues with creating your account, please feel free to visit theHandshake Support Center or email the Center for Career Development at careerdevelopment@manhattan.edu

Serve on our 'Careers and Coffee: Alumni Speaker Panel Series' [+]

Come visit campus with a group of alumni in your field, and share the ins and outs of working in your industry. Through your participation, students have the opportunity to learn more about their career options, and gain a true idea of what to expect.

Become a Mentor [+]

We're always looking for new mentors in ALL fields to assist our students. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, learn more about the program and sign up online.

Attend Career Fair [+]

You can support students and fellow Jasper alumni by participating at our career fairs as an exhibiting employer, or by volunteering your time to help at the event. Learn more about our upcoming career fairs.

We look for volunteers for the following:

  • Employer check-in
  • Student check-in

Join the Manhattan College LinkedIn Network [+]

Help us expand our online Manhattan College community by joining these two LinkedIn groups:

Conduct Mock Interviews [+]

Alumni can give short mock interviews where students can practice their interview skills. Each mock interview lasts about 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes of feedback. CCD will provide sample questions, interview tips, and a feedback form for alumni ahead of time. Learn more here.

If you are interested in participating, please email Carol McTiernan at carol.mctiernan@manhattan.edu.

Offer a Site Visit and/or Job Shadowing [+]

Alumni can invite students for a site visit or job shadowing at their workplace which allows students to observe and learn what goes on in at real work setting. It is less time and commitment intensive than the mentor program, but can be very beneficial to many students.

If you are interested in participating, please email Carol McTiernan at carol.mctiernan@manhattan.edu.

Join a Jasper Alumni Professional Networking Group [+]
