## Campus Life

Living on campus gives you the full Jasper experience, from spending sunny afternoons studying on the Quad with your roommates, to grabbing a late-night bite to eat in Locke’s Loft after a basketball game at Draddy Gym. Our campus is classically beautiful and truly unique; it offers a slice of serenity just a subway ride away from the excitement of midtown Manhattan.

## Inclusive Community

    ![community badge logo](/sites/default/files/styles/original_aspect_ratio_400/public/media/2026-04/CommunityBadge.jpg?itok=9i3NDLXE)

The Jasper community is made up of diverse opinions, backgrounds, lifestyles and faiths. Our campus is a place of lively exchange and learning.

One of the most important parts of our Lasallian mission is to provide education for all, regardless of background or economic class. This ideal dates back to the work of our founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, who opened schools for the poor and underprivileged in France.

Today, this same principle translates into a truly inclusive community at Manhattan University. Located in one of the world’s most diverse cities, the University has educated and supported New York City’s own for years. More than 30% of our students identify as minorities, and an additional 32% of undergraduates are the first in their families to attend university. While we’re a Catholic institution, you don’t have to be Catholic to attend. We welcome students of all faiths, traditions and backgrounds to become Jaspers.

[A Place for All Students ](/student-life/the-multicultural-center)Manhattan University’s Multicultural Center is a resource for all students, particularly those with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. The Center organizes cultural programs, dialogue series and leadership development opportunities for students of color. We offer a space for all to discuss issues of race, religion, diversity and identity. Additionally, we have a variety of cultural student clubs that celebrate different ethnicities by hosting events and giving students an opportunity to build community.

[Gender Inclusivity & Respect ](/student-life/women-gender-resource-center)The Women and Gender Resource Center is an inclusive space for students having experiences related to gender, sexuality, and sexual identity, as well as gender-based violence survivor response and support. It focuses on support, education, referrals, outreach, empowerment for students, as well as supporting research and scholarship on gender and sexuality.

[International Students ](/academics/global-engagement/services)New York City is a true melting pot of cultures, and Manhattan University reflects this diversity as well. International students work closely with our Office of International Student & Scholar Services for assistance with visas and support in adjusting to life in America. Other support services include the International Student Association, an on-campus community of students from around the world, and a weekly support group for international students offered by the Counseling Center.

[Commuter Students ](/campus-life/commuter)The office of Commuter Services and Outreach creates opportunities for commuter students to network and integrate into the University community. Its programs and outreach allow commuter students to meet, share issues and express concerns and receive support. This ensures that their needs are met and addressed by the campus community. Commuter Services and Outreach offers a wide range of services and programs.
