This space now serves as a central location for student veterans to spend time together. The on-campus resource is equipped with laptops and work space, a textbook lending library, and access to other learning and veteran resource referral materials. The center is also conveniently located in the same building as Locke's Loft, one of the University's main [dining venue](/student-life/dining "Dining").

The center also serves as the central location for the [Student Veterans Organization](/life-at-manhattan/clubs-organizations/veterans.php) to hold gatherings and spread the word to their community about upcoming events.

[Veterans at Ease ](/offices/veterans/veterans-at-ease)The Veterans at Ease program is dedicated to supporting student veterans return to and thrive in civilian and academic life. As part of the program, you will be invited to participate in an adapted section (RELS 161) of *The Nature and Experience of Religion*, which includes the opportunity to participate in an off-campus four-day stress reduction retreat at a beautiful, relaxed environment, such as the Bahamas. This specific section of the course includes an introduction to yogic theories of mind and to the value of meditation, yoga, and other stress reduction techniques.

[Vet-to-Vet Mentoring ](/offices/veterans/veterans-mentoring-program)Every new undergraduate student veteran is paired with a returning student veteran that is enrolled in a similar program of study. The mentor/mentee relationship establishes a bond between vets, encourages involvement in academic and social activities on campus, and, most importantly, helps ease the transition to academic and civilian life. As our student veteran population continues to grow, alumni have enhanced their mentorship roles through participation in fall and spring guest speaker series, and connecting student veterans with opportunities to network. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, contact David Bollert at <david.bollert@manhattan.edu>.

For instance, student veterans may be eligible to receive assistance through the [Yellow Ribbon Program](https://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill/yellow_ribbon.asp), as well as veteran tuition rewards. Scholarships through Manhattan University and a variety of external sources are also available.
