Manhattan College Offering AP Workshops Aug. 5-9

The Advanced Placement Institute of Manhattan College will host its 30th annual advanced placement (AP) summer workshops

Manhattan College’s Advanced Placement Institute will host its 30th annual advanced placement (AP) summer workshops from Aug. 5-9 on campus. The workshops are held in collaboration with La Salle University and the Middle States Regional Office of the College Board.

The three-credit courses are designed to offer AP high school teachers a chance to learn the basic structure necessary for teaching an AP course and to develop their skills by allowing them to share methods and ideas. The courses offered include: Art History, Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Computer Science, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Environmental Science, European History, French Language and Culture, German Language and Culture, Human Geography, Italian Language and Culture, Japanese Language and Culture, Music Theory, Physics B, Psychology, Spanish Language and Culture, Spanish Literature and Culture, Statistics, Studio Art, U.S. History, U.S. Government and Politics, and World History.

“After participating in the summer workshops, high school teachers will be prepared to teach AP courses by the fall semester,” said Laura Redruello, Ph.D., program director and associate professor of Spanish at Manhattan College.

To register for an advanced placement course, download a registration form at www.manhattan.edu/ap. The registration deadline is July 13 and professionals (including alumni and current graduate students) affiliated with Manhattan College may also be eligible for a discount.
