Image ![Manhattan University students looking at a monitor](/sites/default/files/styles/4_3_327w/public/media/2026-05/computer-science-3200x2000.jpg?h=1cb48fc4&itok=9xbSUqyp) **RIVERDALE, N.Y. -** Manhattan University's Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program, housed in the Kakos School of Arts and Sciences, has been reaccredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) through September 30, 2032. The designation follows a comprehensive evaluation visit that was conducted October 19-21, 2025. ABET accreditation confirms that the program meets rigorous, nationally recognized standards covering curriculum, faculty qualifications, student outcomes, and institutional support, preparing graduates for professional practice and advanced study in computing fields. > "This reaccreditation reflects the strength and integrity of the education our students receive," said Frederick Bonato, Ph.D., President of Manhattan University. "Congratulations to Dr. Igor Aizenberg, Chair of the Department of Computer Science, and to his faculty for their sustained commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship." Established in 2012, the Department of Computer Science is supported by four full-time faculty members. The program currently enrolls 55 full-time undergraduate students and awarded 21 Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science during the 2024-2025 academic year. > "Our Computer Science faculty, under Dr. Aizenberg's leadership, have built a program grounded in academic rigor and real-world readiness," said Marcy Kelly, Ph.D., Dean of the Kakos School of Arts and Sciences.
