### ####  Check or Credit/Debit Card 

Gifts via checks or credit/debit cards are the most valuable form of support for Manhattan University. Because these kinds of gifts make cash immediately available, they offer the University the flexibility to meet our most pressing needs.

### ####  Automatic Monthly Giving 

Have a continuing impact by joining our monthly **Cornerstone Guild** giving program. Eliminate reminder notices by signing up for our automatic monthly giving program (electronic funds transfer). It's that easy! With automatic giving, there is no check writing, no postage, and no possibility of lost checks.

By helping reduce administrative costs, more of your gift will support Manhattan University activities. Monthly giving also provides the University with a consistent cash flow, which helps in budgeting the University's valuable resources. Your gift may be pledged and spread over several months.

Donors may change their donation or cancel enrollment in the automatic monthly giving program at any time by contacting the Development office.

### ####  Stock and Securities 

Gifts of stock, securities, and mutual funds can benefit both you and Manhattan University. These gifts may help diversify your assets while minimizing capital gains taxes. Contrary to popular belief, gifts of closely held stock can provide many of the same tax benefits as publicly traded shares.

Maintain the stock certificate(s) in your name. Do not change ownership to Manhattan University prior to your broker completing the electronic transfer.

For tax purposes, your gift will be valued on the date the transfer is received electronically into the University's account. The value of the gift is calculated using the average of the high and low trading values on the date of receipt, multiplied by the number of shares donated. Gifts are tax deductible for federal income tax purposes to the extent permitted by law.

### ####  Matching Gifts 

Make your gift to Manhattan University go even further through a corporate matching gift program. Many employers will match charitable contributions made by employees, retirees, and even spouses, allowing your support to have twice the impactâ&#128;&#148;or more.

Companies may offer several ways to submit a matching gift request, including online portals, automated phone systems, or paper forms submitted to Manhattan University. To find out if your employer participates, please contact your Human Resources department or employee benefits office for details and instructions.
