De La Salle Medal Dinner

The De La Salle Medal Dinner honors executives who exemplify Lasallian principles of excellence, corporate leadership, and service to society.

President O'Donnell at 2017 De La Salle DinnerManhattan College’s 2017 De La Salle Medal was presented to Stephen J. Squeri ’81, vice chairman of American Express Company, on February 9.

An executive known for his ethical corporate leadership, Squeri serves on the board of directors of the American Express Global Business Travel, J. Crew Group, and Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Valerie Fund and Manhattan College, as well as the board of governors for Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School. His professional accomplishments and profound commitment to the community made him an excellent recipient for this award.

Thanks to Squeri, the 2017 dinner committee, and the many generous supporters of this event, a record $2 million was raised for student priorities, such as scholarships and financial aid.
