# Fund for Manhattan | Giving to Manhattan University

## Fund for Manhattan

The *Fund for Manhattan* is made up of the Anniversary Fund, the Annual Fund, the Parents Fund, and the Employee Giving Program. Gifts to the *Fund for Manhattan* address a wide range of essential needs, including providing financial aid for our deserving young men and women, enriching student services and activities, enhancing academic programs and facilities, and developing new and promising resources and initiatives.

To ensure Manhattan University continues to flourish, we ask that you consider donating to one of these important funds.

The Anniversary Class Gift is an important part of the University's Annual Fund program. The success of each reunion class campaign is largely dependent upon volunteer committees that establish class campaign goals, identify objectives for fundraising efforts, and increase attendance and participation for Reunion Weekend. We are always seeking new volunteers to reach out to their classmates.

Your Anniversary Class Gift helps to enhance and grow student programs and services so students can continue to receive a high-quality education like the one you enjoyed here. We hope you will join us this year by making a gift [online](https://connect.manhattan.edu/anniversary) today. Or, you can request a paper copy the gift form and send by mail.

The success of Manhattan University is due in part to the support of those who want to give students the chance to have a first-class, values-grounded education. Unfortunately, tuition alone does not cover the entire annual cost of a Manhattan education and the life-changing co-curricular opportunities that are a vital part of this experience.

Gifts to the Annual Fund address this gap, in addition to providing financial aid, enriching student services and activities, and enhancing academic programs and facilities.

As the parent of a Manhattan University student, you have become part of the extended University community. We are delighted you've chosen us, because we believe our Lasallian Catholic heritage provides an exceptionally well-rounded educational experience.

As you may be aware, tuition alone does not cover the entire cost of a Manhattan education, particularly the extracurricular experiences that enhance learning and living. We understand that providing a Manhattan University education for your child is a huge investment, often with sacrifice. Your additional support helps us reach that goal to provide the necessary resources for your student. Every Parents Fund gift directly impacts academic programs, cocurricular programs, classroom upgrades, and campus enhancements.

Students' experiences are shaped, to a great extent, by the support of parents like you. Your contribution will enrich your child's experience at Manhattan by providing the unrestricted funds that drive student engagement beyond the curricula.

#### Cap & Gown Society

If you're the parent of a freshman, consider becoming part of our Cap and Gown Society. We ask that you make a gift to the University in each of the four years your child is at Manhattan. To thank you for your yearly commitment, your family will be listed in the annual Honor Roll of Donors and, at the time of graduation, you will receive a commemorative gift.

We hope you will join us this year by [making a gift online today](https://connect.manhattan.edu/giving). Or, you can request a paper copy the gift form and send by mail.

The Senior Class gift is a long-standing tradition at Manhattan University, and the first chance for

graduating seniors to collectively leave a legacy on campus. Commemorate your upcoming graduation and take the first step in becoming an involved alum by making a gift of any size.

#### Why Give to Manhattan?

- **Your gift will have a direct impact on students who follow in your footsteps.** The Senior Legacy Scholarship will be awarded to a rising senior (or two) who may be in jeopardy of not graduating due to unplanned financial need.
- **Your donation helps increase the value of your diploma.** Your gift, combined with those of fellow Seniors and Alumni, go into the determination of Manhattan’s placement in national rankings and will help improve Manhattan University's ranking against other schools. Also, when the university, departments or campus organizations apply for grants, foundations and boards often look for high participation rates.
- **You can thank a professor or staff member who made a difference in your university experience.** It’s a great way to say thank you.
