Thomas Mauriello joined Manhattan College as vice president of college advancement in 2006. Under his stewardship, the College has raised more than $400 million in restricted and unrestricted giving in support of students, programs and infrastructure. An accomplished and effective business leader, Mauriello has significantly strengthened, restructured and integrated the offices of Alumni Relations, the Capital Campaign, Development, and Marketing and Communications. Ably recruiting, cultivating and soliciting Board of Trustees leadership, he also has served on executive search committees for the College’s 19th and 21st presidents.
Mauriello has brought unprecedented success to the College’s major fundraising initiatives, including Manhattan’s transformative $165 million capital campaign, Invest in the Vision. Launched in 2019, the effort has raised more than $210.7 million to date—substantially above its original goal—and has attracted 36 gifts of $1 million or more. Mauriello also has led the highest-yielding De La Salle Medal Dinners in the College’s history: The event raised a record- breaking $3.6 million for scholarships and other student aid in 2023; $2.6 million in 2020; and $2.16 million in 2019.
Prior to his position at Manhattan College, Mauriello served as vice president and chief development officer at the New York Institute of Technology. He also has held the posts of senior vice president at White Plains Hospital and vice president at Mercy College.
Mauriello began his career in alumni giving at Fordham University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in administration and supervision.
