Professor Emeritus, Chemistry & Biochemistry

Education

  • Ph.D., University of Washington
  • M.S., San Jose State University
  • B.A., University of California Berkeley
  • Research

I determine the structure and properties of new (single crystal or micro-crystalline) materials, using model building and sophisticated crystallographic programs analyzing x-ray diffraction data.  Current research projects study zeolites (micro-porous materials used as molecular sieves, catalysts, adsorbants, etc.).  Undergraduate research students participate in all aspects of this research.
