Mahbuboor Rahman Choudhury

Adjunct, Civil & Environmental Engineering

Dr. Choudhury specializes in Environmental Engineering, primarily on advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies, water and resource recovery technologies from wastewater. His research activities focus on membrane-based water and resource recovery processes and electrochemical processes for wastewater treatment. He is a Licensed Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) in Ontario, Canada.

Before joining Manhattan College in Fall 2019, Dr. Choudhury was a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology from 2012 – 2016. He also served as a Civil and Environmental Engineering Consultant to design and upgrade different industrial and municipal wastewater treatment facilities in Bangladesh. He later moved to Montreal, QC, Canada, and worked as a Part-time Faculty at Concordia University in 2017 – 2018.

In 2009, Dr. Choudhury received the prestigious Fulbright Science & Technology Fellowship from the US Department of State to fully fund his Ph.D. study at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA.

Originally from Bangladesh, Dr. Choudhury enjoys cooking, listening to good music, watching movies, and spending time with his family.
