Kathryn Weld is the Director of the Graduate Programin Applied Mathematics-Data Analytics. She received h her PH.D. (in Algebraic Topology) from the CUNY Graduate Center, and her M.F.A. from Sewanee School of Letters. She has published research articles in Algebraic Topology and Algebraic Graph Theory. Recently her interests have turned to applications involving Analytics and Modeling. A member of the Editorial Board of PRIMUS: Problems, Resources, Issue in Mathematics Undergraduate Studies, she was a guest editor for the PRIMUS: Special Issue on Capstone Courses. In addition to the capstone course, her pedagogical interests include mathematical biology and inquiry based learning. In additon to her mathematical interests, Weld has a personal curiosity about mathematicas and art. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in the Midwest Quarterly; the Southeast Review; the Bellevue Literary Review; Valpairaso Poetry Review; The Cortland Review; Still, The Journal, and The Storyscape Journal. She enjoys backpacking, peak bagging and canyoneering, and spends summers in a rustic family home in the Adirondacks.
