Kathryn Weld

Adjunct, Mathematics

Kathryn Weld received her PH.D. (in Algebraic Topology) from the CUNY Graduate Center, and her M.F.A. from Sewanee School of Letters. She has published research articles in Algebraic Topology and Algebraic Graph Theory. Recently her interests have turned to applications involving Topological Data Analysis. An Assistant Editor, subject editor and member of the Editorial Board of PRIMUS: Problems, Resources, Issue in Mathematics Undergraduate Studies, she was a guest editor for the PRIMUS: Special Issue on Capstone Courses.  In additon to her mathematical interests, Weld has a personal curiosity about mathematics and art. Her chapbook, "Waking Light" is published by Kattywompus Press. Her poems and prose have appeared in the Midwest Quarterly; the Southeast Review; the Bellevue Literary Review; Valpairaso Poetry Review; The Cortland Review; The Critical Flame, and others. She enjoys backpacking, peak bagging and canyoneering, and spends summers in a rustic family home in the Adirondacks.
