Br. Dennis Malloy

Provincial, District of Eastern North America of the Brothers of the Christian Schools

Brother Dennis Malloy, FSC is currently the Visitor (Provincial) for the District of Eastern North America of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. He was the Provincial for the Brothers’ Baltimore District from 2007 to 2009, and in the previous seven years, he served as the Executive Director of St. Gabriel’s System. In that role, Brother Dennis oversaw all programs and operations of the multi-service agency that provides residential and community-based services for court-adjudicated youth under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Catholic Social Services, and the Christian Brothers. Before assuming that position, Brother Dennis worked as Director of De La Salle Vocational for 11 years in Bensalem, Pa. and taught religion at West Philadelphia Catholic High School for Boys from 1980 to 1983. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Pennsylvania Chapter of NASW, Correctional Education Association, and Pennsylvania Council for Children Youth and Family Services.

A 1974 graduate of La Salle, Brother Dennis earned his master’s degree from the University in 1983 and a Master of Social Work from Catholic University in 1985. In 2001 he was honored with the Distinguished Lasallian Education Award of the Baltimore District, and he serves as Chairman of the Regional Conference of Christian Brothers.  He was elected to the Manhattan College Board in June 2009 and serves as Vice Chair.  Brother Dennis lives at the Brothers’ residence in Lincroft, New Jersey.
