Afternoon Camp

Manhattan College is excited to offer Afternoon Camp for your child’s summer fun. The campers will enjoy the Manhattan College campus's lush green environment to build memories that will last a lifetime. Our two-week camp sessions will feature STEAM activities. Campers will be placed by age groups (6-8 years old and 9-11 years old).

    *Registration is a two-week minimum. Campers are welcome to extend their participation in two-week blocks (according to the schedule above only).

    Daily Schedule

    Afternoon Camp serves children between the ages of 6 to 11 years old.
    The daily schedule for the afternoon camp is 12:30 PM -4:30 PM, Monday-Friday. A sample daily Camp schedule* is:



    12:30 PM - 1:00 PM Lunch/Arrival
    1:00 PM - 1:50 PM Group Activity I
    1:50 PM - 2:00 PM Break
    2:00 PM - 2:50 PM Group Activity II
    2:50 PM - 3:05 PM Snack Break
    3:05 PM - 3:45 PM Group Activity III
    3:45 PM - 4:00 PM Break
    4:00 PM - 4:25 PM Project Work
    4:25 PM - 4:30 PM Clean-up
    4:30 PM Parent pick-up for -Afternoon Camp campers

    What guidelines for COVID-19 are you following at your Day Camp?

    Manhattan College Summer Day Camp understands the New York State Child Care and Day Camp Summer Programs issued guidelines and will implement them. Manhattan College Summer Day Camp also follows the Considerations for Youth and Summer Camps issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention guidelines. Manhattan College Summer Day Camp also incorporates the Field Guide for Camps on Implementation of CDC Guidance recommendations issued by the American Camp Association.

    What does a typical day look like?

    Campers learn, and they have fun doing it. They participate in a variety of activities throughout the afternoon.

    How much does the camp cost?

    The Afternoon Camp is priced competitively, in order to provide opportunities for more campers. We also provide promotions, discounts, and early-bird specials. We accept major credit and debit cards.

    Does the camp offer financial aid?

    Our camp offers several options to support parents with their personal financial situations. Please contact us to discuss your personal financial case.

    Where is the Afternoon Camp located?

    We are located in Riverdale, west of Van Cortlandt Park. Our campus is conveniently located one and a half blocks away from the NYC subway (#1 train at 242nd Street), and close to several major highways. The entire camp will be held on campus.


    Can we visit the camp before signing up?

    Because of COVID-19, we are not running in-person campus visits. We will be offering virtual meetings to give more information about the camp and the Manhattan College campus. Check the leading website for these announcements or send an email to

    What is security and safety like at camp?

    Security and safety is our top priority in camp. All children will be accompanied by their instructors at all times, including at drop off and pick up time.

    What should my child wear to camp?

    Campers must wear Manhattan College Summer Camp t-shirts every day. Camp shirts can be purchased for $8 each. Campers should wear comfortable shoes.

    Who makes up the camp staff?

    Our camp staff is made up of Manhattan College students and professionals with experience in youth development.

    What is the staff-to-child ratio?

    Our maximum camper to language instructor ratio is 12:1.

    Can children with allergies attend this camp?

    Our camp is peanut and tree-nut free.

    Can I cancel my child’s registration?

    The registration fee is non-refundable. If you have paid for camp and for some reason you decide not to continue coming, please send us an email, and we can discuss your situation.

    Does the camp provide lunch and snacks?

    Parents and guardians are responsible for providing their child’s cold lunch, snack, and water bottle. We will fill up the water bottle during the day.

    Do you provide housing for international families interested in your camp?

    During COVID-19, we are not providing any housing at the moment.
