Our expert faculty are the driving force of this department. They are published scholars in their respective fields, particularly in the histories of the United States, Europe, Japan and East Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Outside of the classroom, you’ll get to know your professors on a deeper level. Every semester, the department offers opportunities to learn through social gatherings, brown bag lunch discussions, lectures series and faculty-led trips through our favorite piece of history: New York City.
Research and hands-on learning are also important parts your experience as a history major. Many students have the chance to work one-on-one with faculty members, attend conferences and have their work published all before graduating. Others opt to intern at a business, nonprofit, media outlet or educational organization in the city.
