We prepare general and special educators to teach disabled students in self-contained and inclusive settings.
Our faculty members are scholars and practitioners, widely published on a variety of topics including ESL, at-risk students, technology and literacy, parent teacher communication and inclusive learning environments. They are also active in a variety of professional associations such as the International Reading Association, the International Dyslexia Association, the Association for Curriculum Development and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
Our Degrees & Certificates
The Special Education program prepares future teachers through a combination of traditional classroom study and extensive field work. All programs meet New York State standards for teacher certification and are accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC).
