 Spend winter intersession in Venice, Italy, exploring the cityâ&#128;&#153;s extraordinary artistic and architectural heritage while engaging in digital preservation and creative practice. This Manhattan University faculty-led program uses Venice itself as the classroom, with instruction taking place in museums, galleries, churches, public squares and along the cityâ&#128;&#153;s historic canals.

As students examine Veniceâ&#128;&#153;s layered history and cultural traditions, they also address the contemporary challenges facing the city, applying digital media tools to help preserve and interpret its cultural legacy for future generations.

This is a two-week winter intersession program.

## Courses and Credits

- ART 150/212/380/402/406: Preserving Venice, 3 credits

In this course, students explore the art and architectural history of Venice while learning how to preserve its cultural heritage through digital media tools and creative practice. Classes are conducted on location in museums, galleries, palaces, churches, public squares and along the cityâ&#128;&#153;s network of streets and canals, allowing students to engage directly with the spaces and artworks they study.

As they move through the city, students gain firsthand insight into Veniceâ&#128;&#153;s layered history, traditions and contemporary challenges. Through digital preservation projects, students contribute to ongoing efforts to keep Venetian culture vibrant and accessible for future generations.
