# Special Dietary Accommodations

## Special Dietary Application Process

Students with medically necessary dietary needs may request dining accommodations through the Special Dietary Application process. This process helps ensure that students have access to safe and appropriate food options while dining on campus.

### How to Apply

#### Complete the Application

Students must complete the Special Dietary Application, which includes a Health Care Provider Form that must be completed by a licensed healthcare provider. This documentation helps the University understand the nature and scope of the student’s dietary needs.

#### Application Review

After the application is submitted, Health Services and the University’s registered dietitian will review the request and prepare for a personalized discussion with the student.

#### Meeting Coordination

The Specialized Resource Center will schedule a meeting with the student, a representative from Health Services and the registered dietitian.

During the meeting, the student will:

- Describe their dietary needs.
- Provide examples of safe and unsafe food options.
- Discuss any challenges they have experienced while dining on campus.

#### Discussion of Dining Options

The group will review the dining options available on campus and identify possible accommodations that address the student’s documented needs.

#### Final Review and Decision

After the meeting, the review committee will consider the information provided in the application and during the meeting to determine appropriate accommodations. The student will be notified of the decision and any required next steps.
